By signing up for our free-choice CSA, you are making a choice to support our local, family-owned, certified organic farm. And you are showing us that you value our business and our produce in the greater community.
Being a CSA member is a great way to connect yourself and family to local food production. There are no brokers, wholesalers, distributors, or grocery chains -- there's just us! We grow, harvest, wash, and package your produce all within days of you receiving it. And because we grow it, we know it! Have questions about storage, use, variety, or flavor? We are always happy to answer your questions.
As a CSA member, you have earlybird access to our online store (2 hours before non-member customers) so you're able to pre-order your favorites before we sell out. You'll also receive our weekly newsletter, with farm updates, recipes, and produce tips.
Q: Why free-choice CSA? A: The increased flexibility of our free-choice CSA system makes it easier for you to get the quantity of veggies you want, when it is most convenient for you. In a given week, you can use as much or as little of your CSA share funds as you need on whatever goods you choose. On a salad kick? Load up on greens and radishes one week. Have pickling plans? Take home ten pounds of cucumbers and some garlic. Despise eggplant? Leave it at the farm for someone else to enjoy! You can pick exactly what you want in your share in whatever quantity you desire minimizing the stress of food waste.
In addition to our own vegetables, your CSA share can also include any of the other items we carry in our store. Items like local maple syrup, local grass-fed beef, organic apples, handmade lavender soap, or fresh mushrooms. Anything we offer can be added to your weekly share, making your visit a one-stop-shop!
Q: How does this work? A: You pay for your share upfront and those funds are then credited to your own personal online account, to be spent at your choosing. We love this system for its convenience. If you wish to shop every week at our market stand, no need to bring cash or worry about payment, your credit covers you! If you wish to place larger monthly orders to pick up from the farm, you can do so without incurring credit card fees, or having to scramble for a check or cash when you come to pick up. You simply draw from your online account when placing the online order. You'll use that same online account to track your purchases and your balance as the season progresses.
Q: When does the CSA start, and for how long ? A: It's year round! Signs up are ongoing and your free-choice CSA funds can be used all year long.
Q: How much does it cost? A: Shares start at $250. Beyond that, you can set your value. If you're not sure where to start, estimate a weekly budget for vegetables, or what you think your family might consume and multiply that by about how often you'd like to come out. Are you a once-a-week kind of shopper, an every other week, or a once a month-er?
Q: What if I run out of funds? Can I renew? A: Of course! If you are loving the veggies and find you are running low on CSA funds, you have the option of replenishing your share anytime during the year. You can renew in person at the market, send a check in the mail, use your credit card (with processing fee), or opt for Venmo or PayPal. Renewal values start at a minimum of $100. After that, the exact value is up to you. Q: How do I get my produce? A: As a year-round vegetable producer, we offer you multiple weekly options for getting your produce year-round.
