community supported agriculture (CSA)

The start of broccoli harvest!
"Community Supported Agriculture consists of a community of individuals who pledge support to a farm operation so that the farmland becomes, either legally or spiritually, the community’s farm, with the growers and consumers providing mutual support and sharing the risks and benefits of food production".

Community Supported Agriculture, more commonly referred to as a CSA, is a model of growing food for which you, the consumer, buys direct from us, your farmer by pre-purchasing a farm "share" at a discount during the off-season in return for weekly pickups of fresh produce throughout the growing season. Think of it as a seasonal subscription to all that the farm produces.

Your weekly share of vegetables are harvested, washed and packed for same day pick up. It doesn't get any fresher than this! And because we neither have to store or ship your vegetables, we can choose varieties based on their flavor and texture - and not whether they can endure long transit times or rough handling. In order to provide your favorites while also offering some new or unique things, we grow nearly 100 varieties of 40 different vegetables crops. But know that while we offer variety, we always aim to include the staples. Check here for a list of our 2019 offerings.

Unlike other CSAs in the area, we ask you to come out to the farm to pick up your traditional CSA share.
We know your lives are busy - we value your visit! For you, coming to the farm is a chance to see, interact with and be part of the farm and its community. It also gives you the chance to partake in one of the great benefits of your share - the Herb & Flower U Pick Plot! And for us, it's a chance to spend more time with you, sharing what we do right where we do it!

WHEN: If our farm and CSA seems a good fit, you've a couple more choices to make. First, decide when you pick up your share! You can choose between Tuesday OR Friday as your pick up day - between the times of 2-8pm. CSA begins at the end of May and runs through October for a total of 20 weeks.

WHAT: The next step is figuring out the size share that best fits you and your household's needs. We offer three share sizes: a Full Share, a Half Share and a Quarter Share.

Quarter Share - $220: This share is our solution to individuals or older couples who are not able to get
through a half share, but still wish to participate in the CSA model. This is a half share that is picked up every
     other week
for 20 weeks. While this is the least discounted share, the Herb & Flower U-Pick and the Extras
     Table are still included.

Half Share - $380: Most popular! This share is great for couples or for families that are occasional vegetable
eaters. You can expect 7-9 different vegetables every week for 20 weeks. An example of a share in August
might include: 1 pound of rainbow carrots, 1 1/4 pounds of heirloom tomatoes, 1 head of lettuce, 2 sweet
peppers, 1 slicing cucumber, 1 bunch of green onions and 1 head of garlic. T
he Herb & Flower U-Pick and the
Extras Table are included in your share cost.

Full Share - $600: This share wins over vegetable lovers and avid cookers! Great for a veggie loving couple
or family. You can expect 8-12 different vegetables every week for 20 weeks. An example of a share in August
might include: 1 pound of rainbow carrots, 2 pounds of heirloom tomatoes, 1 head of lettuce, 1 bunch of Swiss
chard, 4 sweet peppers, 2 slicing cucumbers, 1 bunch of green onions, 1 head of garlic and 2 globe
     eggplant. T
he Herb & Flower U-Pick and the Extras Table are included in your share cost.

WHERE: Pick up is from the farm, located just 15 minutes North of Midland in Hope on Meridian Road (M30), off of US10W.
