community shares program

Community Shares is a program we offer to make nutritious food more accessible to people in our community.

We believe that local, healthy and tasty food should be available to everyone, regardless of income. Organic doesn't have to mean gourmet or niche - it can also just be good for us, for our environment, and our community overall. In that spirit we launched the Community Shares Program (CSP) in 2020 as our community was being impacted by both COVID-19 and flooding from the dams. We're excited to grow this program in 2021!

How it works:

CSP is open to anyone who self-identifies as needing assistance with food. This applies, but is not limited to, folks who receive SNAP benefits, WIC Project Fresh vouchers, Senior Vouchers, etc. There will be no financial assessment for taking part in the program; an expressed need will be taken in full faith.

Every other week a box of fresh vegetables will be delivered to Community Share Member's doors.
CSP Members pay $15 for each box of veggies. The produce in the box is valued at $25 and our home delivery fee is $5 which makes it a $30 value. The $15 dollars not covered by the CSP Member will be subsidized by our Community Share Fund.

CSP Members can pay their $15 via SNAP card, WIC Project Fresh or Senior Vouchers as well as cash, check, or Venmo (@goodstead).

What you can expect in a CSP Box:
  • Each box will include a variety of produce, anywhere from 6-8 different vegetables, grown here on the farm. It's all certified organic and no spray.
  • For your convenience, all produce has been washed and is ready to eat!
  • The boxes will differ based on the seasons. You can expect to see vegetables such as lettuce, tomato, potato, onion, carrots, cucumbers, beans, garlic, beets, and more.

The Details:
  • Deliveries will begin Wednesday, August 11th and run every other Wednesday (bi-weekly) through October 20th, for a total of 6 boxes of food over 14 weeks.
  • Deliveries will arrive to your home between 4-7pm. If you are paying with a SNAP card, you must be present at time of delivery. Any other form of payment must be ready and available to our delivery person at time of delivery.
  • You have the option of paying by the week or paying the total cost for the season up front.
